The Internal Auditing Department (IAD) provides independent assurance and advisory services to the World Bank Group. IAD is seeking to add additional staff to enhance its capacity to carry out reviews in the area of information technology and systems. An assignment in IAD offers staff an opportunity to gain a holistic perspective of the World Bank Group and how the various units integrate.

IAD is seeking to recruit a senior audit professional specializing in the review of Information Technology (IT). The IT Audit team is involved in the review of governance, risk management, and controls over the WBG’s IT processes, platforms, databases, network, systems development, and enterprise business systems. The applicant is expected to complete audit projects both as team leader and as a member of a team. The position requires interaction with clients at all levels including senior management. The Senior Auditor will represent IAD in major systems development and technology projects; support and participate in the integration of IT audit work with financial and operations audits; and implement the use of computer assisted audit techniques (CAATs) in the conduct of various audit assignments.

Duties and Accountabilities

-	As part of IAD's annual risk assessment exercise, the applicant will assist in the risk assessment of the Bank Group's information technology infrastructure and application systems and recommend an audit work plan for the year;
-	Deliver the projects assigned by IAD management in accordance with professional auditing standards and IAD's policies and procedures; 
-	Ensure that IAD's key performance indicators for project completion and quality standards are met;
-	Lead and carry out complex audits and special reviews with particular focus on the risks and controls associated with information technology and systems;
-	Participate in the implementation of leading edge approaches and tools used in IT auditing and use of CAATs and information security and controls assessment software; 
-	Maintain up to date knowledge on information security and auditing and disseminate information and best practices to IAD staff and clients;
-	Ensure that recommendations are followed up regularly and the results of the follow up are reported to management on a timely basis;
-	Contribute to the achievement of integration in audit projects by participating in the review of systems and related infrastructure that support business processes being audited;
-	Represent IAD in committees or project teams where IAD involvement is required;
-	Maintain regular and effective contact with clients and ensure that developments in client areas and emerging risks are identified.
-	Manage and mentor junior staff on audit projects. Review staff working papers for submission to IAD IT Audit Team Lead.
-	Prepare and give presentations on project planning and results to IAD and client Management.
-	Create audit work programs for new and emerging IT processes and technologies. 
-	Act as internal resource for technology issues within the department and the wider business community of the WBG.

Selection Criteria

-	Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Accounting or other related disciplines and professional qualifications (CISA, CISSP or equivalent). An advanced degree in a relevant discipline will be highly regarded;
-	Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation preferred. Willingness to pursue required.
-	A minimum of eight years of relevant work experience in the information technology or information security fields and in auditing or risk management. 
-	Managerial experience in external or internal auditing will be highly desired;
-	Experience in the audit, support and/or implementation of some of the following systems and technologies: SAP, Peoplesoft, SUMMIT and other Treasury Applications, Web based Applications, UNIX, Windows, Oracle database, Telecommunications and Network security or management;
-	Familiarity in interpretation and implementation of and auditing against industry standards, guidelines, and methodologies for information security and controls such as COBIT, ISO27001, SOX404, ITIL, and CMMi.
-	Up to date knowledge of information security issues, practices, and techniques and modern approaches in IT auditing;
-	High degree of motivation, initiative, resourcefulness, good judgment, discretion, adaptability, and ability to carry out complex tasks with minimum supervision;
-	Strong written and verbal communication skills;
-	Well developed interpersonal skills and proven track record in client relations.
-	Ability to work in teams, deliver high quality work within deadlines, and to meet team objectives;
-	Working knowledge of Audit Command Language ("ACL") and other computer assisted audit tools (“CAATs”) is desirable.
